Simple Beauty. Honest Truths.

Category: Art

Seen clearly

You wandered through every city. Down every alley. You made your way on buses and taxis, boats and trains. Until one day, there was a kind of a clarity and you realized that all you had ever wanted, was home.

Photographed near Pike Place Market, Seattle, Washington.

The Blossoming

There was no way I could have imagined how full, how rich, the day would become.

Holding Tight

The storm was coming, I could feel it. And yet I held tight, refused to let the winds knock me down, refused to be anything but what I am. Firm-footed, on solid ground.

Aware

There was no need to stop and smell the roses. I was aware of them everywhere, their spring perfume filling the house, the dew on their petals reminding me of new beginnings.

Spinning

I let my heart spin free and wild and in that moment, I knew happiness.

Cool and Clean

The wine tasted cool – clean – the way you’d imagine the breeze would on a summer day, the clothes drying on the line, the sun shining all around.

Viewpoints – a thought on inspiration

Catalog I don’t need – with clothing I can’t afford – arrives – I toss it in the garbage. On a second thought, I retrieve it, take a look – it is filled with brightness and beauty. Suddenly – I understand – only with eyes wide open can I see whatever the world wants to show me.

Turning Corners

A Lily at Home by Jo Anne Richardson

The lilys are blooming in the yard – which means it’s that time when you can almost taste summer- and there is the slightest hint of the warmth to come, and you know, a corner has been turned.

Breathing, fresh

Into the valley, I see everything, the dry winds swirl round me, and I can breathe again. Looking over the Columbia River from the Martin-Scott Winery, East Wenatchee, WA, May 27, 2012.
